Definition: : The bar code is a special identification code printed as a set of vertical bars of differing widths on books, grocery products, and other merchandise. Used for rapid, error-free input in such facilities as libraries, hospitals, and grocery stores, bar codes represent binary information that can be read by an optical scanner. The coding can include numbers, letters, or a combination of the two; some codes include built-in error checking and can be read in either direction.
To insert the bar code:
1. Select the design you are going to insert the bar code into.
2. Choose the Insert-->Bar code command. The editor opens the Insert Bar Code wizard.
3. Specify the bar code properties.
4. Click the Finish button. The new bar code object is inserted into the active design so that it becomes visible. The new barcode object is activated.
